How it works

Every slender tower has a natural rhythm — a period it wants to sway at. Push it at that rhythm and it builds, cycle over cycle. That's resonance, and it's the thing that actually threatens tall buildings, not raw wind.

A tuned mass damper fights back by being a second weight that moves opposite the tower's own motion. Not sitting still. Not matching it. Against it — draining energy out with every swing instead of adding it in.
